1. HOW TO UPGRADE my old data
1) Install PLO 3.00 version into different folder as version 2.01
2) Run PLO version 2.01 and make backup your datas
3) Close PLO 2.01 version
4) Run PLO 3.00 version
5) Go to Recover Data from Data menu
6) Recover your old data
7) Go to Convert data function from Data menu
8) Convert your data
9) Run Data Control function from Data menu
10) Make backup for hard disc and CD
11) Check your new data ( run all functions from PLO )

2. HOW TO INSTALL PLO SOFTWARE
PLO CD-Rom Installation
1) Insert the CD-ROM into the CD drive. The installation program should start automatically. If it does not, double-click setup.exe.
2) Start Menu - Accept the default menu or select the menu where the shortcut will be placed on the computer
3) Installed Folder - Accept the default folder or select the directory in which the application and supporting files will be installed.
4) Click Install

3. PLO CONFIGURATION
- Following are some of our tips on how to effectively use Pigeon Loft Organizer from the start.
- The first thing that needs to be done is to enter in the User Information.
- The next thing we recommend is to go into the Options screen from File menu.
1) Select File from the menu bar
2) Click Options item
3) Click the radio button for the appropiate choices in ich section
4) Enter all selected options
- Next you can start entering birds. We strongly recommend that you enter in your breeders first.
By doing this you are then able to go into the Pairing birds Section and enter in the pairs and then enter in the offspring.
- You can enter in the Race result, you can enter in past breeding seasons, or you can merely print up pedigrees and reports to your hearts content.

4. HOW TO UNLOCK MY SOFTWARE
The unlock key for your software will be sent you by email. Please take special care to enter your email address correctly.
Once you have purchased the product, registration key will be sent to you via email, software will be shipped.
After you receive the CD, install PLO for your computer.
When the program has been installed and is started for the first time, you will be asked to insert the unlock key.
To register the new version of PLO, please do the following:
1. Select the UNLOCK KEY from, between ==Begin key== ==End key== strings ( ONLY RED text WITHOUT SPACE )
( Position the cursor at one end of the red text. Press and hold down your mouse left button, drag to the other end of the text, and then release the mouse button. If you selected the wrong amount of text, deselect it by clicking anywhere in the email. )
2. Click the right mouse button on the selected unlock key.
3. Select Copy from the popup menu.
4. Start the Pigeon Loft Organizer.
5. Click the "Paste From Clipboard" button on the displayed window.
Your UNLOCK KEY for Pigeon Loft Organizer is located between the strings

Then run Pigeon Loft Organizer and you will find your loft name

5. IN RACE INFORMATION CAN NOT ENTER RACE STATION
1/ Go to Reports
2/ click on velocity calculator right hand side
3/ click on add race a drop down box will come up
4/ add all you race station miles & yards / km
5/ go back to race information click on race station you will then have all your race station click on one and it will come in automatic .

6. I have a problem with database, my program doesn't work
Run the program, choose Data Control option from Data menu. Run
the control and fixing the program datas. After doing this
option check how the program works then do datas backup.
Remember that you should do Data Control option once a week, it
will make the database works correct.

7. HOW TO MAKE A PEDIGREE.
All birds you entered in the Bird window from Breeding menu
We will write you exactly how do you have to
enter your birds. If you have a pedigree of a bird AU 04 NPC 22345 :

Race. Now go to Birds list window form Breeding menu, click All birds button, choose from the list

8. What's the difference between the upgrade version and full program?
There are no different "upgrade" and "full" or "new" versions. There's only one version, and it's a complete, independent program which doesn't require any other program in order to function. The only difference between a new purchase and an upgrade purchase is the price; the program is the same.

9. Will PLO program run on a Mac?
No, our software is only available for Windows PCs. Many customers with MAC OS using CodeWeavers' Crossover Office and running PLO on MAC OS.

10. How can I determine which version of Pigeon Loft Organizer I am currently using?
To find out which version of Pigeon Loft Organizer you are using, open Pigeon Loft Organizer, go to the Help menu, and select About. You will see your version number listed on the About screen. If you are using anything earlier than current version, you need to update your software.

11. How to Copy and Paste text in Pigeon Loft Organizer?
Here's How:
Move your mouse cursor to the beginning of the text that you want to copy.
Hold down your left mouse button and glide your cursor along the text that you want to copy.
Once you have all text highlighted that you want to copy, hit the CTRL key and 'C' key simultaneously.
To paste the text that you just copied, move your cursor to the area that you want to place your text.
Click your left mouse button.
Hit the CTRL key and the 'V' key simultaneously.
Tips:
When highlighting text, you can move your cursor to the left or right.
Instead of hitting the CTRL together with the 'C' or 'V', you can right click on your mouse and select 'Copy' or 'Paste' from the pop-up menu.
If you selected the wrong amount of text, deselect it by clicking anywhere in the text.

12. When I try to open PLO, I get an error message:"Network initialisation failed. File or directory does not exist. File C:\PDOXUSRS.NET"
One of Vista's features is increased security protection. User Account Control is now the default, this effectively runs a user's account in a reduced authorisation level, in contrast to full Administrator rights which was the default under XP.
Usually the installation goes smoothly, but when you attempt to run the program you get an error "Network initialisation failed. File or directory does not exist. File C:\PDOXUSRS.NET. Permission denied. Directory: C:\". This is because the program is attempting to write a small temporary file to the root folder of Drive C:, which is now disallowed.
However, in Windows Vista there's a new feature that allows you to provide administrator access on a program-by-program basis. This is on the 'Properties' dialogue for each program, which can be found from various places on your computer. One of these is from the 'Start' button: locate the menu option for the PLO, (or you can use the Desktop icon). Right-click on this with your mouse and from the pop-up menu select 'Properties'. From the Properties dialogue, go to the 'Compatibility' tab (left). In the 'Privilege Level' section towards the bottom, click the checkbox labelled "Run this program as an administrator". Then click the OK button. This will now always run the PLO in Administrator mode. As the program starts you will see a pop-up box entitled "User Account Control" - just click "allow" for the program to load successfully. Note that if the checkbox in the Properties dialogue (left) was greyed with a tick in it, you already have administrator privileges throughout the whole system.

13. When I try to open PLO, I get an error message:"An error occurred while attempting to initialize Borland Database Engine";
This error occurs because the Borland Database Engine is looking for updated language
drivers. They should have automatically installed into the appropriate folders, but under some
conditions will not. You can try the following:
1. Download BDE for your computer ( DOWNLOAD BDE )
2. Install it and run PLO.

14. Request Unlock Key
If you have lost or misplaced the unlock key that you received when you purchased your PLO software you may request for another unlock to be sent.
Please note that we can only send unlock keys to the email address that you provided when the software was originally purchased.
We will email you your Unlock key again free of charge.

15. I keep getting an error that says: "printer selected is not valid". The printer works with all other programs.
The "Printer selected is not valid" error has been occurring on a Vista and has always been a misconfiguration or security issue. We have listed below all of the fixes that have worked in the past so far. Any new fixes found during web meetings will be added to the list.
Since this is the newest solution we received, we are adding it to the top of the list since it seems to be the simplest and so far effective.
In the Control Panel / Printers tool, Right Click on the printer you use for PLO and select Run ad Administrator and Properties as shown below:
Then select Everyone and select the three checkboxes as shown below and select OK.
Then see if PLO will print.
